How do I measure engagement rate accurately?

Engagement rate = (likes + comments + shares + saves) / followers × 100.

Senly shows the instant rate and a rolling 30-day average per client for each post. The difference:

  • Instant rate — engagement in the first 24 hours after publication
  • Cumulative — total over the entire lifespan of the post; fairer for slower-growing posts like Reels or Carousels

Benchmarks for SMB-NL: 1-3% is average, 5%+ is excellent. Keep in mind that IG Reels structurally score lower on engagement rate but higher on reach.
