- Instant rate — engagement in the first 24 hours after publication
- Cumulative — total over the entire lifespan of the post; fairer for slower-growing posts like Reels or Carousels
Benchmarks for SMB-NL: 1-3% is average, 5%+ is excellent. Keep in mind that IG Reels structurally score lower on engagement rate but higher on reach.
