What is CTA (Call-to-Action)?

Also known as: Call to action, Call-to-action

Definition

A direct prompt to act within a post — for example "Click the link in bio", "Send a DM", "Order now" — that pushes the reader toward a specific action.

In-depth explanation

A strong CTA lifts conversion significantly. Posts without a CTA perform on average 30% worse on conversion goals. CTAs should fit the platform: on LinkedIn "Comment below" works well, on Instagram "Link in bio", on TikTok "Save for later".

Example from agency practice

A client sells a course. The CTA "View the course → link in bio" drove 2x more clicks than posts without an explicit CTA. A small difference in copy, a big difference in results.
